چکیده

We compute a canonical circular-arc representation for a given circular-arc (CA) graph which implies solving the isomorphism and recognition problem for this class. To accomplish this we split the class of CA graphs into uniform and non-uniform ones and employ a generalized version of the argument given by Köbler et al. (2013) that has been used to show that the subclass of Helly CA graphs can be canonized in logspace. For uniform CA graphs our approach works in logspace and in addition to that Helly CA graphs are a strict subset of uniform CA graphs. Thus our result is a generalization of the canonization result for Helly CA graphs. In the nonuniform case a specific set Ω of ambiguous vertices arises. By choosing the parameter k to be the cardinality of Ω this obstacle can be solved by brute force. This leads to an O(k + logn) space algorithm to compute a canonical representation for non-uniform and therefore all CA graphs. 1998 ACM Subject Classification G.2.2 Graph Theory

Solving the Canonical Representation and Star System Problems for Proper Circular-Arc Graphs in Logspace

We present a logspace algorithm that constructs a canonical intersection model for a given proper circular-arc graph, where canonical means that models of isomorphic graphs are equal. This implies that the recognition and the isomorphism problems for this class of graphs are solvable in logspace. For a broader class of concave-round graphs, that still possess (not necessary proper) circular-arc...

Helly Circular-Arc Graph Isomorphism Is in Logspace

We present logspace algorithms for the canonical labeling problem and the representation problem of Helly circular-arc (HCA) graphs. The first step is a reduction to canonical labeling and representation of interval intersection matrices. In a second step, the Δ trees employed in McConnell’s linear time representation algorithm for interval matrices are adapted to the logspace setting and endow...

On the Parallel Parameterized Complexity of the Graph Isomorphism Problem

In this paper, we study the parallel and the space complexity of the graph isomorphism problem (GI) for several parameterizations. Let H = {H1,H2, · · · ,Hl} be a finite set of graphs where |V (Hi)| ≤ d for all i and for some constant d. Let G be an H-free graph class i.e., none of the graphs G ∈ G contain any H ∈ H as an induced subgraph. We show that GI parameterized by vertex deletion distan...

A Simple Linear Time Algorithm for the Isomorphism Problem on Proper Circular-Arc Graphs

A circular-arc modelM = (C,A) is a circle C together with a collection A of arcs of C. If no arc is contained in any other then M is a proper circular-arc model, and if some point of C is not covered by any arc then M is an interval model. A (proper) (interval) circulararc graph is the intersection graph of a (proper) (interval) circular-arc model. Circular-arc graphs and their subclasses have ...

Graph Isomorphism for Colored Graphs with Color Multiplicity Bounded by 3

The colored graph isomorphism problem is a restricted version of the general graph isomorphism (GI) problem that involves deciding the existence of a color preserving isomorphism between a pair of colored graphs. In this report, we study this problem for graphs whose color multiplicity is bounded by 3 (3-GI). We begin by formally defining the colored graph isomorphism problem and setup our nota...
